The evolution of the New Holland compact tractor lineup is here, with the introduction of the new WORKMASTER™ 35C and WORKMASTER™ 40C tractors. These two models combine operator-focused design for easier operation with ideal comfort, enhanced performance and maneuverability, greater versatility with new attachments and sleek Connective Flow styling. Together, these features provide customers with incredible productivity and value for their dollar.
“The WORKMASTER 35C and 40C represent the next step in elevating our compact tractor lineup,” states Mike Sevick, compact tractor business manager, New Holland North America. “These affordable, yet highly capable tractors are built with thoughtful design enhancements that keep operators comfortable, confident and productive.”
Designed and built in-house for comfort and easy control
Comfort doesn’t cost extra on the value-focused WORKMASTER 35C and 40C.
“Comfort was a key focus when we designed the operator’s platform,” Sevick says. New Holland utilized unique modeling software, along with proprietary and diverse North American operator data, to guide every stage of the platform’s development. “The result was a platform that feels natural and well-tailored to enable operators to work as long as they need without fatigue.”
Getting on and off the tractor’s platform is easy with substantial grab handles on each steel fender, a left-hand step and a wide threshold to and from the seat. For added comfort, ease and safety, operators will appreciate the semi-flat deck design under their feet with a low transmission “hump” and a standard rubber floor mat.
To accommodate all operators, a comfortable vinyl seat offers a variety of adjustments. Once in the seat, operators will find the wide, ergonomically positioned steering wheel with perforations to ensure maximum control. Looking ahead, the dash is easy to see and provides key operating information at a glance. Operators will also be confident in their every move with pedals and control levers positioned for maximum comfort and large, color-coded knobs.
Additionally, these tractors are built in-house and made to look the part, with modern styling that aligns with New Holland’s newest flagship tractors, including the recently launched T7 Standard Wheelbase tractors.
“The WORKMASTER 35C and 40C are where economy meets elegance. They feature our signature Connective Flow styling, which includes a sculpted hood, sleek decals and all-new Dynamic Blue paint and silver rims,” Sevick says.
Tractor-tailored attachments
WORKMASTER 35C and 40C owners will be able to effortlessly dig into a variety of projects with the new 250LC front loader and 270BC backhoe. Both attachments offer impressive capabilities and ideal integration with the tractors for easy hookup and removal.
The 250LC front loader has a comfortable, easy-to-reach joystick that makes loader control effortless with simultaneous lift and curl capability. The skid-steer quick-attach faceplate provides commonality with popular attachments, including grapples, which also work seamlessly with the optional live 3rd function kit.
“The dealer-installed 3rd function kit is a new addition to our loader offering that aligns with feedback we’ve heard from dealers and customers,” Sevick says.
For digging and trenching tasks, the all-new 270BC backhoe is available for both models and delivers impressive digging capability up to 87 inches (2,210 mms) deep with the standard 16-inch bucket. The 270BC backhoe features a redesigned mounting system that improves under-tractor clearance and allows for quick attachment and removal — without removing the three-point hitch arms. This lets operators switch between backhoe work to three-point implements in just minutes. Options include a mechanical thumb to clamp material, rubber street pads to protect paved and concrete surfaces and smaller and larger bucket sizes.
Versatile power and performance
The two models are powered by a 3-cylinder 1.9L engine, delivering optimal power and torque for tough jobs and ideal fuel efficiency. Accessing all major routine service points is easy with the lightweight, single-piece metal flip-up hood, where standard oil checks can be conducted without lifting the hood. Long runtimes are the result of a large 12.6-gallon (48L) fuel tank with the fill neck located on the rear fender, making refueling easy.
Furthering customizability, customers can choose between a simple-to-operate, three-range dual-pedal hydrostatic transmission with independent forward and reverse pedals for quick, effortless direction changes or a 12x12 mechanical transmission with a synchronized left-hand shuttle that is perfect for demanding tasks, such as ground-engaging work in a garden or food plot.
To put power to the ground, a wide selection of tires is available to meet customer needs. The offering includes the increasingly popular R3+ hybrid tires that are an excellent choice for many customers. Their unique directional block-type tread pattern is gentle on grass, good in wintery conditions and adequate in soil. R4 industrial tires, R3 turf tires and R1 ag tires are also offered on both WORKMASTER models.
Pairing with this wheel choice are a strong front and rear axle ready for years of tough work. For exceptional maneuverability, the front axle has a dedicated steering pump for smooth, responsive control even when carrying a full bucket as well as a sharp turning radius that is reduced by over 8 inches (203 mm) compared to prior models.
Work-ready rear features
From lifting and pulling to pushing and powering attachments, the WORKMASTER 35C and 40C are built to get work done. A hefty three-point hitch and big hydraulic capacities combine with easy-to-use controls to ensure customers will work confidently.
Customers will easily hook up and control rear implements with the heavy-duty three-point hitch and its 2,067 lb. (937.5 kg) lift capacity, which represents a 14% increase over prior WORKMASTER compact models. To promote fast and easy hookup, telescopic stabilizers are standard, offering a simple pin adjustment on the lower link arms for added convenience and control.
For maximum productivity, operators expect quick loader response time, the capacity to operate rear attachments and implements, and intuitive controls. The new WORKMASTER 35C and 40C deliver on these demands with a dual-pump hydraulic system that provides dedicated hydraulic flow for fast loader cycle times and effortless steering, even with a full bucket. For customers who require rear hydraulic capability for implements, such as a log splitter, up to three optional rear remotes can be installed, along with color-coded levers, just to the right of the seat.
Added peace of mind
A limited warranty that provides 24 months or 750 hours of full coverage, plus an additional 48 months (72 total) or 1,500 hours of powertrain protection, is included with new WORKMASTER models.
For ultimate in-tractor monitoring, fleet customers, such as municipalities and rental yards, will appreciate that the WORKMASTER 35C and 40C come ready for telematics from the factory. Along with a dealer-installed plug-and-play modem kit, owners can easily monitor parameters such as GPS location, GPS speed, battery level, fuel level and more, right from their smartphone or tablet with New Holland FieldOps™ — New Holland’s farm data management application.
The new WORKMASTER 35C tractor will make its debut at the 2026 World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, February 10-12 (corner of South Street and “N” Street); and the WORKMASTER 40C will be featured at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky, February 11-14 (booth #6049 in South Wing A).
