The STEYR® Cervus CVT has added another design accolade to its growing list of honours, with the new 360–435 hp flagship tractor range winning in the Product Design category of the internationally renowned Red Dot Design Awards.
Each year, the Red Dot Design Awards’ Product Design jury seeks out the world’s most outstanding products, assessing entries against criteria that include aesthetic appeal, functionality, sustainability and innovation. The winners will be celebrated at the official award ceremony on 7 July 2026 at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany.
Taking STEYR into 400hp+ territory, the Cervus CVT was first previewed to the international public at Agritechnica 2025. Its core design principle is a package that blends a high power output with compact dimensions, to provide maximum flexibility and the ability to handle a full suite of tasks, whether ballasted heavy draft cultivations, jobs combining front and rear implements, or unballasted high-speed road travel and haulage.
Built at the home of STEYR in St. Valentin, Austria, the completely new design has at its heart an 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 engine, paired with a new 4x2 range 60kph CVT. Soil preservation and fuel efficiency are aided by optional central tire inflation, while the operator benefits from a cab with one of the lowest noise levels in its class, plus the high comfort delivered by a combination of semi-active cab suspension and a new independent suspended front axle.
The distinctive new STEYR styling, mirroring the look established across the range in recent years, incorporates practical features such as easy service access and an advanced lighting concept, including high‑intensity hood and taillights. The STEYR logo is now seamlessly integrated into the rear lights, while daytime running lights complete the modern, unmistakable design.
Precision farming features further enhance the concept, with three configurable Tech Packs offering ISOBUS and TIM for implement control, GPS‑based headland automation and full steering management, complemented by Connectivity Included with subscription-free access to FieldOps™ for real‑time monitoring and smarter decision‑making.
“This Red Dot Design Award for the new Cervus CVT is a further strong endorsement of STEYR’s long‑standing reputation for combining innovative design with a distinctive, purpose‑led tractor identity,” says Franz Josef Silber, global product marketing at STEYR.
“The STEYR team is known for designs that successfully blend practical, customer‑focused features with striking styling. Following the preview at Agritechnica, we are now looking forward to bringing these tractors to STEYR dealers and customers in the near future.”
