  • The T4F eSource™ Mild Hybrid System and BigBaler Enhanced Baler Productivity receive EIMA Technical Innovation Awards.
  • New Holland Combine Smart Traction Control receives an EIMA Technical Evolution Award.

New Holland has won three EIMA Technical Innovation Awards in 2026, for technologies designed to make agricultural operations more productive, efficient and easier to manage.

The recognitions span specialty tractors, large square balers and combine harvesters, reflecting the brand’s focus on practical innovation across the farming cycle.

The T4F eSource™ Mild Hybrid System: integrated power for tractor and implements

Recognized with an EIMA Technical Innovation Award 2026, the T4F eSource™ Mild Hybrid System is a prototype specialty tractor that combines mild-hybrid powertrain assistance with the electrification and coordinated control of front and rear implements.

It provides practical and accessible electric power tailored to the needs of vineyard and orchard owners.

This innovation goes beyond replacing mechanical or hydraulic power with electricity: the tractor and its implements share information and energy to optimize complete operations. At the core of this approach is the Intelligent Power Flow Management System, a New Holland-developed and patented energy management system that enables seamless power and data exchange between tractor and implement. This allows multiple tasks to be completed in a single pass, while maintaining the individual settings and work quality of each individual implement.

At EIMA 2026, New Holland will showcase the T4F Mild Hybrid eSource with a rear-mounted Nobili e-BV 16 mulcher and a front-mounted Tecnovict 111E leaf stripper.

The combined system delivers fuel savings of up to 52%, lower emissions and noise, reduced maintenance and operating costs, and higher productivity through optimized energy use and greater field efficiency.

BigBaler Enhanced Baler Productivity: smoother crop flow and higher throuhput

The second EIMA Technical Innovation Award recognizes a new technology designed to increase the productivity and ease of operation of large square balers.

BigBaler Enhanced Baler Productivity combines a hydraulically controlled slip-clutch driveline with real-time sensing and AI-based controls. The system continuously monitors torque and crop flow to optimize baler performance, stability and throughput while reducing the need for operator intervention.

Unlike conventional overload clutches that abruptly stop crop flow, it allows controlled slip to absorb peak loads and maintain smooth operation. Auto-tuning, self-calibration and predictive driveline protection automatically adapt to changing crop conditions, wear and temperature, while tractor-baler automation adjusts travel speed to maximize performance.

The result is higher daily throughput and bale output, improved operator experience and more consistent performance across varying field conditions.

Combine Smart Traction Control: automatic traction management for difficult harvesting conditions

An EIMA Technical Evolution award goes to a prototype system for combine harvesters that dynamically balances traction between the front and rear axles.

Using real-time information on terrain, machine load and operating conditions, the technology is designed to reduce wheel slip, fuel wastage and soil damage while helping operators maintain productivity in wet, muddy or sloping fields.

Smart Traction Control dynamically distributes torque between front and rear axles based on terrain, load and slope, using real-time data from multiple inputs including slope inclination, grain tank, fuel levels, and gear selection. The operator sets the desired traction balance using the Shift and Reel Up/Down controls. The hydrostatic system then responds automatically and instantly to changing field conditions, such as muddy areas or inclines, optimizing traction across the front and rear axles while minimizing wheel slip, soil damage and fuel consumption.

As a result, Smart Traction Control enhances operator confidence while reducing fatigue, thereby maximizing safety and productivity, even in the most demanding harvesting conditions. It also helps alleviate downtime, by reducing the likelihood of the combine becoming stuck in challenging conditions.

The three award-winning technologies will be presented by New Holland at EIMA 2026 in Bologna.
