- CNH hosted its Media Day at the Harbin plant, showcasing smart farming innovations, alternative-fuel technologies and driveline localization progress.
- Highlights included the Case IH Patriot 3250PRO sprayer, FieldOps™ 2.0 digital platform, New Holland Methane Power tractor, live equipment demonstrations, and a close look at how CNH is strengthening customer productivity through advanced technologies and local manufacturing capabilities.
Supporting Productivity Through Smart Farming
CNH showcased precision agriculture solutions designed to help farmers improve efficiency and productivity.
The Case IH Patriot 3250 PRO self-propelled sprayer is designed for large-scale farming operations that require efficiency, timely field work and application precision. Equipped with SenseApply™ intelligent spraying technology, its cabmounted camera system detects crop health and weeds, then adjusts application rates in real time. Live Variable Rate Application helps apply inputs according to crop needs, while Selective Spray/Spot Spray (Green-on-Brown) targets and sprays only weeds instead of blanketing the entire field, reducing herbicide use by up to 60% to 90%. Together, these capabilities help reduce overlap, missed applications and spray drift, while maximizing the value of every input. For customers, this means less input waste, lower operating costs and the ability to complete highquality spraying within narrow pest and disease control windows.
CNH also presented FieldOps™ 2.0, its latest smart digital platform. The enhanced platform integrates machine operation data, field information and agronomic models to deliver more actionable insights and decision support. From fleet management to proactive service and maintenance, FieldOps 2.0 supports the lifecycle management of agricultural machinery and helps farmers move from experience-based to data-driven decision-making.
Advancing Sustainable Agriculture Through Alternative Energy
The New Holland Methane Power tractor was another highlight of the event.
The tractor can run on renewable methane while delivering performance and productivity comparable to diesel-powered models. Compared to traditional diesel tractors, it can reduce particulate matter emissions by approximately 80%. When fueled by biomethane, it can achieve near net-zero carbon emissions, making it a practical option for livestock operations and circular farming systems.
As agriculture seeks pathways to lower emissions while maintaining productivity, alternative-fuel technologies such as methane power offer farmers additional options to support long-term sustainability goals.
Advancing Local Manufacturing Capabilities
CNH also highlighted its ongoing investment in local manufacturing and innovation capabilities at the Harbin plant.
As key components of a tractor driveline, Full Powershift Transmission (FPS) supports uninterrupted power delivery during gear changes, while Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) technology continuously optimizes power transfer across changing field conditions, improving operator comfort and fuel efficiency.
CNH is advancing the localization of FPS and CVT transmission technologies for selected high-horsepower tractor models produced at the Harbin plant. As the first foreign-invested company in China to localize these driveline technologies, CNH is further strengthening its local manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience.
Media representatives toured the Harbin plant for a closer look at CNH's manufacturing processes and heard directly from our customers Aidong Li and Yuelong Wang about the operational benefits of advanced transmission technologies.
The event also featured live demonstrations of Case IH Puma 2704 equipped with CVX Drive, as well as the Case IH Puma 2404 tractor. The demonstrations showcased how advanced driveline technologies help improve productivity, fuel efficiency and operator comfort in real-world farming conditions.
