South-East Queensland’s newest agricultural machinery business is on the move again, acquiring SEQ Ag and Construction in Toowoomba and expanding its machinery offering for customers.
Case IH dealer STAG Machinery Group was formed in 2020 through a partnership between Craig Brimblecombe of St George Machinery Centre, and Noel Baines, owner of Ag Requirements in Gatton, to run the former Wideland Ag Case IH dealerships in Toowoomba and Dalby.
Now, less than two years later, STAG has acquired the Toowoomba-based SEQ Ag and Construction, dealers of New Holland Agriculture and New Holland Construction equipment. However, because the former SEQ business catered to such a large area, Ag Requirements in Gatton will assume responsibility for the Lockyer Valley part of the business while STAG, from its new Toowoomba location, will focus on customers in that immediate area.
Under this latest expansion, they will retain the New Holland brands, selling them alongside their existing Case IH range. Case IH, and New Holland Agriculture and New Holland Construction, are all brands of CNH Industrial and this latest move has been described as a win for both farming and construction customers across the region.
“For customers, they will have access to a wider range of machinery, recognising the agricultural diversity of this area, and in a first for STAG and Ag Requirements, we will be offering construction equipment, which opens us up to a whole new market. It really is an exciting development that creates new opportunities for us, and for our customers, who stand to benefit from increased options for their businesses,” said Noel Baines.
“We appreciate CNH Industrial giving us this opportunity and in seeing the value to this region of bringing two brands under the one business.”
A number of staff from the former SEQ Ag and Construction will continue with STAG Machinery Group and Ag Requirements.
Craig Brimblecombe said they looked forward to working with both the Case IH and New Holland brands to maximise the opportunities and benefits that came from access to a wider
CNH Industrial offering and reassured existing SEQ Ag and Construction customers the transition in ownership would be a smooth one.
“It is very much business as usual for customers, and we look forward to working with them and introducing them to the outstanding support and service standards STAG Machinery Group and Ag Requirements are renowned for. STAG has gone from strength to strength in the past two years and Noel and myself know that’s due to the skills and dedication of our staff, and their commitment to fulfilling customer needs around sales, machine servicing and parts,” Craig said.
Bruce Healy, General Manager of New Holland Agriculture and Construction Australia/New Zealand, welcomed Noel and Craig into the New Holland dealer network.
“New Holland believe that the approach and customer experience that the teams at STAG and Ag Requirements bring to their customers are second to none. We congratulate Noel and Craig on their acquisition and look forward to working together with the teams at Gatton and Toowoomba on delivering best in class support for our customers.”
Pete McCann, General Manager of Case IH Australia/New Zealand, congratulated Craig and Noel on the expansion, and said he looked forward to seeing how the business would continue to evolve.
“Customers are the big winners here, benefitting from the knowledge and vast experience of the STAG, and Ag Requirements, teams as well as the additions to the product line-up. This has always been an important region for us and I congratulate Noel and Craig for taking on this latest challenge and providing customers with new opportunities for increased efficiencies and productivity within their operations.”
